Preparing Scotland Against the Threat Of Water Scarcity with SEPA
I think we are all in agreement when we say… “Scotland’s a bit wet” but did you know that Scotland can be vulnerable to periods of dry weather?

What we delivered
- Branding
- Campaign Management
- Design & Animation
- Digital Marketing
Our Approach
Which can result in pressure on our lovely uniquely green environment and natural water resource users in areas across our bonnie country.
SEPA required a creative agency to help them create a stand-out suite of digital assets to communicate their key messaging for their national awareness campaigns and further… produce those campaign assets in line with SEPA’s newly refreshed brand.
We couldn’t wait to get stuck in and use the array of new colours and icons to make our graphics pop, while getting their point across about the harm of water scarcity.
Our passion towards and understanding of Scotland was vital to the campaign’s success, providing us with an advanced grasp of key sectors – what drives the decision-makers, how we reach them and what makes them tick.
Our objectives were clear:
ESTABLISH BRAND – Help solidify the recent brand refresh and ensure its first public-facing outing was not only well executed but also well received
KEY MESSAGING – Integrate the key communication messages through all activity off and offline where necessary to ensure the key sectors were aware of the change required
CREATE – Create digital animations and graphics that catered to all three target audiences and communicated actions clearly

Our Solution
Although the scope of requirements asked us to simply support the delivery of the water scarcity campaign through developing a creative suite of assets (which we absolutely did to the fullest!)…. as passionate brand marketeers we can’t help but stick our oar in the water and offer our two cents worth on the campaign development process too (it would be rude not to, right?).
And from this… our creative process was kickstarted:
Our creative process birthed a comprehensive suite of digital assets – organic, paid, print (Examples include Hotel Scotland, SLNT, The Scottish Farmer, The Dram), and digital animation. These would go on to contribute to informing their target audience in chosen key sectors – which rely on Scotland’s vast freshwater network to function – of the importance of planning ahead for water scarcity during the summer season.
What did we deliver?
Well, we got to work building one of our most comprehensive suites of visual digital content to date, targeted towards Scotland’s Agricultural industry, Golf Clubs, and Distillery owners. Driving home key messaging and connecting designs to SEPA’s newly designed brand guidelines was a must and we partnered this with the use of water scarcity imagery sourced from around Scotland to really send the message home of how it can affect your local area.
And we didn’t stop there.
Our very own Mandy Burns hopped on board with Digital Marketing Manager Rachel to work closely with the SEPA internal team to adjust messaging that would fit a localised radio PR Campaign. Within this, they focused on tailoring messaging that would cut to the core pain points of target audiences who would most likely be affected by Scotland’s water scarcity season.
