Gallus Pedals

Glasgow, Scotland

Gallus Pedals is a Glasgow original. Founded in 2021 by Martin Heaney, the idea was brilliantly simple.

Take the best of the city, put it on two wheels and give people a fun, eco friendly way to explore.

The tours blend iconic sights with hidden corners and plenty of Glasgow patter, all delivered with that unmistakable gallus spirit.

Gallus Pedals came to Flourish through the Glasgow Growth Programme, a city-wide initiative designed to support ambitious local businesses with tailored expertise to help them grow, adapt and thrive. Through the programme, businesses are matched with specialist partners to tackle real challenges and unlock their next stage of growth.

The Task

Gallus Pedals already had strong momentum. The tours were popular, the brand was loved and word of mouth was doing a lot of heavy lifting. The challenge was making sure the digital experience lived up to the reality of the tours and supported future growth.

Our brief was to strengthen the online presence, sharpen the messaging and ensure the website felt just as warm, welcoming and full of personality as the experience on the bikes. It also needed to work harder as a growth tool, helping new audiences find Gallus Pedals and feel confident booking.

Our Approach

We started with a deep dive into routes to market and audience behaviour. Gallus Pedals attracts a rich mix of locals, staycationers and international visitors, and mapping these groups properly helped us shape clear, practical recommendations on messaging, content and future activity.

We then explored the brand’s vision and values in more detail. Sustainability, local know how and classic Glasgow friendliness were already central to the experience. Our role was to make sure those strengths showed up consistently across the customer journey, particularly on the website.

A full review of content, analytics and competitor activity added further insight. We identified opportunities for richer storytelling, clearer positioning and stronger use of reviews and photography to bring the tours to life and build trust with new visitors.

The website review focused on user journey, navigation, tour descriptions and calls to action. Using keyword insights, we refreshed key areas of copy to reflect how people actually search for cycling tours and things to do in Glasgow, creating a clearer, friendlier and more search ready experience.

The Result

The outcome is a website that feels more confident, more human and much more aligned with the Gallus Pedals experience. Messaging is clearer, the journey is smoother and the brand’s personality shines through more consistently.

Martin Heaney, Founder of Gallus Pedals, shared his thoughts on the work.

“Working with Flourish has been brilliant. They have helped our website stand out, feel more like us and tell our story in a much clearer way. The updates to the copy, layout and user journey have made the whole experience smoother and more engaging for our customers. We are really pleased with the difference it has made and excited to keep building on it.”

Altogether, the project has given Gallus Pedals a strong set of practical actions for the road ahead. With refreshed messaging, sharper audience insight and updated website copy, the team is well placed to keep growing and welcome even more people keen to discover Glasgow the gallus way.

Friendly, bold and just the right amount of cheeky. It has been a pleasure supporting Gallus Pedals through the Glasgow Growth Programme as they take their next steps.
