Last week, the tech community flocked to Glasgow’s SEC for DIGIT Expo West, and it didn’t disappoint. With over 1,600 IT and digital pros, Scotland’s largest tech exhibition was a hive of inspiration, innovation, and great conversations. From live keynote talks to interactive breakout sessions, and plenty of networking in between, there was something for everyone.

Here’s what stood out to us from the day:

Power BI and Smarter KPI Tracking

One of the biggest eye-openers? Seeing how Microsoft’s Power BI is giving brands a clearer picture of their ROI. By linking KPI tracking directly to spend, it’s turning guesswork into precision planning. But that wasn’t all – Andrew Chen’s Reforge framework also caught our attention, with a fresh perspective on building customer retention strategies. And did we mention SIMD data? FMCG brands are using it to personalise pricing and campaigns by location. Oh, and extra kudos to SPAR stores for showing how community-led marketing can bring people together while boosting brand loyalty.

Relationships Over Funnels

Automation and analytics are great, but this year, there was a strong reminder of the importance of the human touch. During one session, we heard how some companies are building their sales pipelines through personal conversations on platforms like WhatsApp. It’s proof that, while funnels are effective, people still want to connect with people. Genuine relationships? Still the ultimate conversion tool.

AI Taking the Spotlight

If there was one theme everyone was buzzing about, it was AI. Whether it was Dell’s AI Factory or Hugging Face’s enterprise hub, the message was clear: AI isn’t just futuristic; it’s usable, practical, and making waves right now. A standout highlight? A use-case matrix that helps balance business value with feasibility. It’s the kind of tool that makes adopting AI feel both strategic and achievable.

Workflows that Work Smarter

How do you free up your team to think big? AI-powered workflows might be the answer. Tools like Swan AI and Google’s Vertex platform showed how automation is cutting out repetitive tasks and letting teams focus on what really matters. More time for innovation, less time spent on admin – it’s a win-win.

Ideas, Collaboration, and Community

Beyond the tech, DIGITExpo West delivered on its promise to bring people together. With attendees from global brands, startups, academia, and beyond, it was a melting pot of ideas and expertise. Keynotes tackled big themes like cybersecurity, digital transformation, and data innovation, while breakout sessions provided plenty of opportunities to dig into the details. Between the talks and the chats over a cup of coffee (or something stronger), the exchange of ideas was genuinely inspiring.

DIGIT Expo West 2025 gave us a lot to think about, from innovative tools to fresh strategies to good old-fashioned human connection. For those who missed it, no worries – there’s always next year. And trust us, it’s well worth adding to your calendar.

See you at the next DIGIT Expo!
