The easing of pandemic restrictions means life can get back to normal – including the theatre. And this means one of our favourite times of year – the panto season.

It may seem early but our friends at Perth Theatre start to plan their pantomime in the Summer as it is one of the biggest shows in their calendar. Oh yes it is.

The panto will run from 27 November to 8 January with two performances each day. The venue can seat 450 people so you can see how vital panto is to its future.

Flourish has been asked to act as an extension to the theatre’s in-house marketing team. Together, we will grow ticket sales, build engagement with its core audiences, develop secondary and new audiences, and raise its local and national profile.

Rather than being a ‘stage’ that we are going through, we have real experience with our very own Eve Alexander – Flourish’s Marketing Account Manager. Having worked in marketing in theatres in Scotland and the North of England, she’s done a stint in New York too.

Eve will lead this project for Flourish. We will develop and manage the artwork concept; create a marketing campaign; deliver a social media calendar with assets and posts; organise promotional materials; and devise a direct mail and email schedule. Quite the performance.

Incidentally, do you know why a pantomime is called a ‘panto’? It’s because the ‘mime’ is silent … Sadly we won’t be providing the jokes for the script.

We look forward to working with Perth Theatre to make their panto season a great success!
